Introduction to the Hazus-MH 2.0 Hurricane Model

Description

This course will help you develop a basic understanding of hurricanes, as well as how Hazus-MH models a hurricane hazard. You will explore various hurricane scenarios including historical, probabilistic, and user-defined. Upon completing this course, you will better understand the hurricane hazard model and the methodologies used in Hazus-MH. This will help you make educated decisions about how to approach the software and utilize the results.

To complete course exercises, you need the following software:

• ArcGIS 10.0 for Desktop (ArcView, ArcEditor, or ArcInfo)
• ArcGIS 10.0 SP1 for Desktop
• Hazus-MH 2.0

Note: Hazus-MH 2.0 requires a 32-bit operating system. Please review the additional requirements for Hazus-MH 2.0
