Introduction to the Hazus-MH 2.0 Flood Model

Description

This course provides an introduction to the components of the Hazus-MH flood model. You will be exposed to a general overview of the model, and an explanation of the process of generating a Level 1 hazard analysis for coastal and riverine flooding. Upon completing this course, you will better understand the flood hazard model and the methodologies used in Hazus-MH. This will ultimately help you to make educated decisions about how to approach the software and utilize the results.

• Explain the process for completing a Level 1 riverine analysis in Hazus-MH.
• List the user-defined hazard options.

To complete course exercises, you need the following software:

• ArcGIS 10.0 for Desktop (ArcView, ArcEditor, or ArcInfo)
• ArcGIS 10.0 SP1 for Desktop
• Hazus-MH 2.0

Note: Hazus-MH 2.0 requires a 32-bit operating system. Please review the additional requirements for Hazus-MH 2.0
