Linear referencing provides a way to model and analyze line features that isn't possible with traditional spatial analysis techniques. As with any analysis, to obtain valid results your data must be accurate and up to date. This course teaches how to edit, realign, and recalibrate routes and their measures as conditions in the real world change. You will also learn how to create complex routes that model real-world travel behaviors. Finally, you will learn how to put your linear referencing data to work to perform analysis and create information that supports decision making.

GIS specialists, data technicians, data managers, and other professionals who need to model and analyze events and attributes associated with line features. Analysts working in the transportation, water resources, utilities, and pipeline industries may find the course of particular benefit.

Prerequisites

Completion of ArcGIS Desktop II: Tools and Functionality or Learning ArcGIS Desktop and Getting Started with Linear Referencing or equivalent knowledge is required.
