In a multiuser editing environment, versioning is used to centrally store data and user edits in the DBMS without duplicating data. Versioning allows you to avoid the overhead of storing redundant data while maintaining data snapshots and alternate views. In this seminar, you learn basic concepts and workflows of versioning and techniques to maintain database performance.

GIS professionals who edit, maintain, and perform QA/QC on data; geodatabase managers or data owners who design geodatabases and versioned editing workflows; and ArcSDE administrators who compress the database, manage data statistics, and perform backup and recovery.

I know how to work with databases and geodatabases, and I understand the concept of versioning. But this was excellent in showing me hands-on tools and how they can be applied. Thank you very much.
