Introduction to Surface Modeling Using ArcGIS 10
- Format: Web Course

This course teaches techniques to create raster surfaces that model continuous phenomena—things that have no discrete boundaries, such as precipitation, temperature, water flow, pollution, elevation, and population density. By interpolating, or predicting, unknown values based on sample data, you can model dynamic environmental phenomena, monitor changing conditions across a surface, and analyze hot spots and distribution patterns within an area of interest.
GIS analysts and specialists, epidemiologists, crime analysts, market analysts, economic forecasters, and other researchers and professionals working in industries such as public health, public safety, hydrology, meteorology, agriculture, environmental management, and mining.
Prerequisites
- Completion of ArcGIS Desktop II: Tools and Functionality or Learning ArcGIS Desktop or equivalent knowledge is required.
