This course introduces the ArcGIS Web Application Developer Framework (ADF) for the Microsoft .NET framework and teaches how to develop custom ArcGIS Server Web applications. You learn how to use GIS Web controls and work with data sources and graphics application programming interfaces (APIs). Standard guidelines for developing Web ADF applications are presented.

Note: This course does not cover developing Web applications using the ArcGIS API for JavaScript.

This course is designed for experienced Visual Studio VB.NET or C# programmers who have Internet development experience using the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

Completion of Introduction to ArcGIS Server or equivalent knowledge is required. You should also have experience programming with ASP.NET 2.0 and JavaScript. Familiarity with Internet protocols and Web services is recommended. Knowledge of ArcObjects will be useful but is not essential. To learn about ArcObjects, take Introduction to Programming ArcObjects Using the Microsoft .NET Framework.
