This course prepares Microsoft® SQL Server® database administrators to implement an ArcSDE enterprise geodatabase. You will become familiar with the ArcSDE architecture and learn how manage storage settings for loading vector and raster data. Techniques for maintaining geodatabase performance in an editing environment and solid strategies for maintaining and managing an ArcSDE geodatabase are presented.

This course is designed for experienced SQL Server database administrators who need to install and configure an ArcSDE enterprise geodatabase. You may choose to also enroll in Data Management in the Multiuser Geodatabase, which complements this course.

You should have experience with SQL Server database administration or application development. Although these courses are not required, you will benefit from completion of ArcGIS Desktop II: Tools and Functionality, ArcGIS Desktop III: GIS Workflows and Analysis, or Building Geodatabases.
