Association of American Geographers (AAG)
ESRI would like to thank the AAG for their contributions to the ESRI Training Library.
The AAG is a scholarly, nonprofit
organization founded in 1904 to advance professional studies in geography
and to encourage the application of geographic research in education,
government, and business. For over 90 years, the AAG has contributed to the
advancement of geography by promoting discussion among its members and
scholars in related fields, by supporting the publication of scholarly
studies, and by performing services to aid the advancement of its members
and the field of geography.
The AAG is distinguished by a diverse membership from the United States, Canada, and more than 60 other countries. The Association's members include professionals and students with backgrounds in a wide variety of geographic subfields, such as urban geography, geographic information systems, cartography, remote sensing, historical geography, geomorphology, political geography, planning, environmental studies, and area specialties. Forty-nine specialty groups involve geographers who share a common professional interest in a systematic or topical specialty or in a major region of the world.
Contributions from the AAG include abstracts from their 95th annual meeting, contained on CD-ROM as their 1999 Abstract Volume. These abstracts can be found in the online GIS Bibliography, and more AAG content will follow.
