ArcGIS Annotation: Tips and Tricks
Overview
Labels make maps more effective, but their limitations often make them unsuitable for presentation-quality maps. Annotation is the solution, as it allows descriptive text to be individually customized and positioned according to a user's specifications for cartographic-quality maps. In this workshop, participants learn how to convert labels to annotation, create geodatabase annotation feature classes, modify annotation, create feature-linked annotation, and convert coverage annotation to geodatabase annotation.
Who Should Attend
This workshop is designed for ArcGIS users who want to explore the benefits of annotation over labeling when creating digital and hard copy maps.
Prerequisites
Participants should have a basic knowledge of ArcMap labeling. Those who are not familiar with labeling may want to take Labeling in ArcMap: Tips and Tricks before taking this workshop.
