Expand/Collapse Overview

Computer-aided design files are an important data source in many production efforts and knowing how to use them in ArcCatalog and ArcMap can save time and money. In this workshop, participants learn how to preview and manage CAD files in ArcCatalog, display CAD files in ArcMap using the symbology defined in the drawing file, and convert CAD files to shapefiles and geodatabase feature classes.

Expand/Collapse Who Should Attend

This workshop is designed for those who use CAD files and want to work with them in ArcGIS.

Expand/Collapse Prerequisites

Participants should be familiar with CAD files, basic ArcGIS operations and concepts, and the geodatabase data model. For those who are new to the geodatabase, prior completion of Basics of the Geodatabase Data Model is recommended.
